The main cultural square of the Old Town, fronted by the Klaipeda Drama Theatre, with the famous Aennchen von Tharau bronze statue dedicated to the East Prussian baroque poet Simon Dach. A meeting point for locals and a natural starting point for any Old Town walk with a dog.

The remains of the 13th-century Memelburg / Klaipeda Castle, surrounded by moats and bastions on the harbour side. The exterior grounds (moats, ramparts and bastion walks) are open to leashed dogs at no charge; the small Castle Museum inside the original poterns is dogs-no.
