Pet-Friendly Attractions in Geneva

Geneva's signature water plume rises 140 metres from the lake at the southern end of the Mont-Blanc Bridge. The pier you can walk along to the base is fully dog-accessible (on lead) and provides the most photographable approach. Beware of strong wind days when the spray drenches the pier — entertaining for some dogs, miserable for others.

Switzerland's largest historic old town — a hilltop maze of cobbled lanes, antique shops and small squares around the Place du Bourg-de-Four and the Cathédrale Saint-Pierre. Dogs on lead are welcome throughout the streets and squares; they are not allowed inside the cathedral or the archaeological site, but the cathedral esplanade with its panoramic view over the city is fully open to them.

Geneva's bohemian sister-town: a planned 18th-century Sardinian quarter just south of the Arve, with low-rise pastel buildings, internal courtyards, independent boutiques and a string of dog-friendly bistros around the Place du Marché. Three trams (12, 18) link it to the centre in 8 minutes. The market on Wednesday and Saturday morning is a Geneva ritual and dogs are everywhere.
