Dog-Friendly Attractions & Things to Do in Fuerteventura

The island's serene former capital, founded in 1404 and set in a green valley, listed among the most beautiful villages of Spain. Its whitewashed lanes, historic church and hillside viewpoints make a gentle leashed stroll and a cool break from the coast, with shaded cafés for a pause.

The striking black-and-white lighthouse at the island's northwest tip, above turquoise lagoons and lava reefs near El Cotillo. Leashed dogs are welcome on the headland and coastal path around it, one of the best sunset walks on the island, though not inside the small fishing museum in the tower.

A dramatic black-sand cove on the west coast backed by sea caves carved into ancient lava cliffs, reached by a short marked coastal path. Leashed dogs can walk the path and the clifftop above the caves for one of the island's most striking geological sights, with big Atlantic surf below.
