• 1.Diabat estuary (7 km south): the Oued Ksob river meets the Atlantic at a wide tidal flat ideal for dog swimming. The historic ruins of the casbah and the Jimi Hendrix connection (he visited 1969) make this a worthwhile excursion.
• 2.The beach kite and windsurfing zone (central section of beach) has many kite lines low to the ground; keep dogs on-leash in the kitesurfing area to avoid entanglement.
• 3.Cap Sim coastal walk from Diabat: 8 km round trip along sea cliffs with argan forest inland; no facilities, bring water for your dog. The headland is completely wild and the best place in the region to have the ocean entirely to yourself.
