There is no sea at 1,035 m, but glacier-fed lakes and streams do the job on hot days. Lac des Gaillands mirrors Mont Blanc a short walk from town, and the shallow channels of the Paradis des Praz are perfect paddling for small dogs. Remember that the high mountain lakes inside the Aiguilles Rouges reserve, Lac Blanc first among them, are closed to dogs entirely.
