The nearest full 24-hour veterinary hospital, in Mérignac on the edge of Bordeaux, and the referral centre the Cap Ferret clinics use for serious overnight emergencies. It is roughly an hour and a quarter drive from the peninsula but is the real around-the-clock option for trauma or critical cases.
