Best Parks & Green Spaces in Cadaqués

The first marine-terrestrial Parc Natural in Catalonia, declared in 1998, covering the easternmost mainland peninsula of Spain. Slate and schist karst, wind-sculpted rocks, scrub of garriga and Aleppo pine, and a 60 km coastal sentier from Cadaqués to the Faro de Cap de Creus and on to El Port de la Selva. The La Pletera visitor centre at El Port de la Selva publishes pet-friendly route maps and seasonal rules.

The signposted Cadaqués stage of the GR-92 long-distance Mediterranean coastal path, running 2.5 km north from the Riba Pianc out of town to Port Lligat and the Casa-Museu Salvador Dalí. Wide enough for a leashed dog the whole way, with three shaded benches and two natural water seeps you should not drink from but the dog can rest beside.

The shaded central square of Cadaqués, opening onto Platja Gran with plane trees, a fountain and a row of benches that locals call the village living room. The closest thing the town has to a formal park; the place children, café terraces and resident dogs share by default.
