Cadaqués has no formally designated `dog beach` under its current ordenança, but its pebble coves are small, mostly unguarded and tolerant of leashed dogs out of season (October to May). The municipal ordenança de tinença d`animals bans dogs on the central Platja Gran and Platja des Pianc supervised town beaches from June 1 to September 30; outside that window leashed dogs are fine. Smaller pebble coves further north (Cala Nans, Cala Jugadora, Cala Culip, Cala Sa Sabolla) sit inside the Parc Natural and are tolerated year-round on a leash. Always verify the current year`s ordenança at the Ajuntament tourism office on the harbour before stepping on the sand.

Platja Gran

The 160 m central pebble beach in front of the village, lined with cafés and bordered by the Església de Santa Maria silhouette to the north. Supervised in summer with full ban on dogs; out of season it is the easy first walk straight off the harbour, leashed and shoulder to shoulder with resident dogs at 09:00 and 19:00.

The small pebble beach in front of the Casa-Museu Salvador Dalí in Port Lligat, sheltered by a narrow island and lined with fishermen`s huts. Not municipally supervised, so the in-town summer ban does not apply; leashed dogs welcome year-round on the cove side, with the Dalí house just a few metres away (interior off-limits to pets).

Cala Jugadora

Cap de Creus headland, 8 km east of the centre · Cap de Creus, 17488 Cadaqués

A small, sheltered pebble and slate cove on the Cap de Creus headland, 15 minutes` walk down from the Faro de Cap de Creus parking. Crystal-clear water, no services, no shade and very few visitors out of August. Inside the Parc Natural, so leash mandatory; ideal for a slow-paced post-hike swim with a small dog.
