Pet-Friendly Sights & Walks in Cadaqués

The 16th-17th-century parish church perched at the top of the old quarter, with one of the most ornate Catalan baroque altarpieces on the coast (gilded retaule by Pau Costa, 1727). The exterior staircase and forecourt are the most photographed spot in Cadaqués; leashed dogs are welcome on every external square, alley and viewpoint around the church.

Salvador Dalí`s family home from 1930 to 1982, the assemblage of fishermen`s huts where he painted most of his Spanish-period work. The interior runs on small, slow timed tours (book 4-6 weeks ahead) and does not admit dogs. The harbour-front courtyard with the surrealist eggs and the surrounding GR-92 path are all on-leash walks with the bay reflecting the white house at sunset.

The 1853 lighthouse at the easternmost mainland point of Spain, sitting on a wind-sculpted slate headland inside the Parc Natural. The exterior platform is freely accessible day and night, the on-site bar-restaurant Cap de Creus has a terrace open most of the year, and the slate paths around the headland are all leashed-dog walks with 270-degree Mediterranean views.
