Szimpla Kert
District VII — Jewish Quarter · Kazinczy utca 14, Budapest 1075
The original ruin bar and still the most iconic, Szimpla Kert occupies a crumbling early 20th-century apartment building whose courtyard has been transformed into one of Budapest's most atmospheric spaces. Mismatched furniture, hanging plants, vintage car bodies turned into seating booths, and a dozen different rooms spilling into each other. Dogs are welcome in the outdoor courtyard sections. On Sunday mornings Szimpla hosts a farmer's market, and the relaxed atmosphere makes it one of the best times to visit with a dog.
💡 Sunday morning from 09:00 is the best time to visit with a dog — the farmer's market crowd is calm and the bar hasn't filled up yet
