Pet-Friendly Attractions in Brighton

The free, public garden encircling George IV's Indo-Saracenic palace. Dogs on leash are welcome throughout the lawn and the historic Regency planting beds, with the iconic Pavilion as the photo backdrop. The garden links the seafront, North Laine, and Old Steine into a half-day walking circuit.

The world's oldest operating electric railway, built in 1883, runs along the seafront from the Aquarium station beside Brighton Palace Pier to Black Rock near the Marina, with a halfway stop. Leashed dogs are explicitly welcome on every carriage at no extra cost. Open March to October.

Brighton's twin shopping districts — the historic Lanes (narrow alleys, jewellery and antiques) and the bohemian North Laine (independent shops, cafés, vintage). Most independent shops welcome leashed dogs without question; many keep water bowls at the door. The cobbled main artery makes for an iconic dog walk between cafés.
