The burgers are genuinely excellent — thick, juicy, and made from quality beef. The entire operation is outdoors: you order at the window and eat standing or at benches under the arches of the elevated rail. Dogs are entirely welcome in this open-air setting, and the clientele skews very dog-friendly. A Berlin experience that has no equivalent elsewhere.

Roamers is the standard-bearer for the Neukölln brunch scene: a beautifully designed café with a long communal table, high ceilings, and a menu that changes with the seasons. The avocado toast and granola bowls are Instagram-famous but actually taste as good as they look. Dogs are welcome on the courtyard terrace behind the café — a sun-trap in the afternoon, shaded with plants and fairy lights. The neighbourhood is deeply dog-friendly and worth spending a full morning exploring on foot with your dog.

A genuine craft beer pub in a former butcher's shop in Friedrichshain, Hops & Barley brews its own Pilsner, Dunkel, and seasonal beers on-site. The interior retains the original tiled walls of the butcher's, and the atmosphere is authentically local — no tourists, lots of regulars, and several dogs at any given evening. Dogs are welcome inside and on the small streetside terrace. The bar staff are openly dog-enthusiastic and often keep treats behind the bar.

Set directly on the banks of the Neuer See inside the Tiergarten, this is Berlin's most idyllic beer garden. The terrace holds around 1,000 people and the setting — willow trees, lake, rowboats for hire — is genuinely beautiful in any season. Dogs are welcome on the large outdoor terrace and are extremely common here. The food is Bavarian-style: pretzels, Bratwurst, Flammkuchen, and cold beer by the Maß. A perfect destination after a long walk through the Tiergarten.
