Dog-Friendly Attractions in Berlin

The longest surviving section of the Berlin Wall — 1.3 kilometres of concrete panels painted by artists from around the world — runs alongside the Spree river in Friedrichshain. This is one of Berlin's most powerful outdoor experiences and entirely dog-friendly. Dogs on a leash are welcome the full length of the gallery, and the riverside path extends for several kilometres in both directions, making for an excellent walk. The Oberbaumbrücke at the end is a Berlin landmark.

Peter Eisenman's field of 2,711 concrete stelae in the heart of Berlin is one of the most powerful memorial spaces in the world. The outdoor field is open 24 hours and dogs on a leash are permitted to walk through it with their owners. The underground information centre (Ort der Information) does not permit dogs. This is a place for quiet reflection — keep your dog calm and on a short leash out of respect.

The baroque gardens of Charlottenburg Palace are among the most beautiful formal gardens in Germany. Dogs on a leash are permitted in the gardens (not in the palace interior). The extensive parkland behind the formal garden stretches along the Spree river, providing a long, flat walk in a beautiful setting. The garden is particularly spectacular in spring when the ornamental trees are in bloom.
