Dog-Friendly Beaches & Riverfronts in Belgrade

The dedicated dog beach on the eastern end of the Ada Ciganlija peninsula — a marked stretch of Sava-river shore where dogs can swim off-leash year-round. Calm water, gravel mixed with sand underfoot, and direct shade from the surrounding pine forest. The peninsula's wider 6 km lakeside cycling loop is leash-friendly.

A 5 km Danube riverfront promenade in the historic Zemun district, ten minutes by tram from the centre. The full length is leash-friendly; informal dog swim points exist where the path drops directly to gravel beaches. Pedestrians, runners, and cyclists share the path, but dogs are part of the daily local scenery.

A natural forest lake in the Avala foothills, about 30 km south of central Belgrade, with sand-and-gravel shores and dense beech and oak forest. Dogs are welcome on a leash on all marked paths, and on the public shores year-round; off-leash use is tolerated when the lake is quiet (October to May, weekday mornings).
