Dog-Friendly Beaches near Alcúdia

Platja d'Alcúdia is the longest sandy beach in Mallorca, a 6 km arc of pale fine sand running from the Port d'Alcúdia marina south along the bay into the Platja de Muro and onward to Can Picafort. Bandera Azul certified, family-friendly, shallow gradient, and one of the best swimming beaches on the island. Per the Ajuntament d'Alcúdia ordinance, dogs are prohibited on the designated public bathing stretch from April 1 to October 31. From November to March leashed dogs are welcome and the beach is at its most beautiful, empty, with the Tramuntana light across the bay.

Mal Pas and Bonaire are the two small coves of the northern side of Alcúdia, around the small marina village of Mal Pas-Bonaire 3 km north of the casc antic on the way to the Cap d'es Pinar. The coves are intimate, framed by pine and limestone, with stone slipways and a small fishing harbour. The bathing footprint is low so leashed off-season walks are uncontested, and the marina promenade and slipway are dog-friendly year-round even during the official bathing season ban.

Cala Sant Vicenç is a cluster of four small sandy and pebble coves (Cala Barques, Cala Molins, Cala Carbó, Cala Clara) tucked under towering Tramuntana cliffs in the Pollença municipality 15 km northwest of Alcúdia. The coves are framed by the Cavall Bernat ridge that rises 350 m above the water, dramatic at any season. Dogs are prohibited during the bathing season per Pollença municipal ordinance, but off-season the coves see very few visitors and leashed dogs are tolerated in practice, especially at Cala Carbó and Cala Clara which have less bathing infrastructure.
