Dog-Friendly Attractions and Things to Do in Aix-en-Provence

Aix's central 17th-century avenue (440 m long, 42 m wide) bordered by four rows of plane trees, terraces, fountains and bookshops — the city's social spine and the easiest dog-walking promenade in town. Open 24/7; dogs on a lead are the norm rather than the exception.

Cézanne's last working studio, built in 1902 on the Lauves hill north of the centre. The studio interior does not accept dogs, but the surrounding olive-and-cherry garden — where Cézanne set up his easels — is open free of charge to leashed dogs and gives the same painters'-view of the Sainte-Victoire.

17th-century classical pavilion built for the Duke of Vendôme, with a 6,000 m² formal French garden of clipped boxwood, parterres and a small fountain. The garden is open free to leashed dogs; the pavilion museum (paintings, period furniture) does not accept dogs.
