- 1.Paradise Valley (Immouzer des Ida Outanane, 50 km north, 1h drive): a narrow palm canyon in the Anti-Atlas foothills with natural pools and waterfalls. Dogs swim freely in the crystal-clear pools. Best visited April-October; the waterfalls are seasonal (spring snowmelt). A spectacular half-day excursion from Agadir.

Essaouira beach is wilder, more dramatic, and has the stunning medina backdrop. Agadir is better for a relaxed beach holiday with mixed activities; Essaouira is better for a more adventure-oriented dog beach experience. If you have a week, combine both (2h drive).
Can I swim with my dog at Paradise Valley?
Yes, Paradise Valley (Immouzer des Ida Outanane) is a spectacular dog swimming destination. The natural rock pools are 1-4m deep with clear mountain water; dogs swim without restriction. The pools are most full in spring (March-May) after snowmelt. In summer (July-August), some upper pools reduce; the lower valley always has water.
