Bringing your dog into Great Britain (post-Brexit)
Since Brexit, Great Britain no longer accepts the EU Pet Passport for entry. Dogs arriving from the EU need a GB Animal Health Certificate (AHC) issued by an official vet within 10 days of travel, plus a microchip and a valid rabies vaccination. Tapeworm treatment must be given by a vet 1 to 5 days before you arrive and recorded on the certificate. Arrange all of this with your vet before you leave home; it cannot be sorted on arrival.
Timing the beaches
The good news at Falmouth is that all the summer beach bans only apply between 10am and 6pm, so an early-morning or evening walk gets your dog onto Gyllyngvase, Swanpool or Castle Beach even in August. In the middle of the day head to Sunny Cove, which is open to dogs around the clock all year, or up to the coast path and gardens.
