About a hectare of fenced riverside lawn beside the Brisbane Powerhouse, with a separate pen for small and timid dogs, water fountains and a covered shelter. The closest off-leash enclosure to the city centre, open around the clock.

Seventeen hectares of riverfront park facing the city towers, inherited from World Expo 88. Dogs are welcome on a lead along the Clem Jones Promenade, the Arbour and the lawns, but are barred from the swimming lagoon, the stream, the artificial beach and the eating areas.

Volcanic cliffs facing the city centre, linked to the river by the Kangaroo Point Stairs and floodlit at night for climbers. The clifftop path gives the defining view of Brisbane and takes leashed dogs; the edge is unfenced in places, so keep the lead short.

About 6 km of flat, paved path along the river from the city through Howard Smith Wharves and Teneriffe to New Farm, including a floating section moored on the water. Leashed dogs the whole way, ending at the Powerhouse off-leash enclosure.

Eighteen hectares of historic gardens in the river bend at the foot of Alice Street, with 1.2 km of river frontage and the weeping fig avenue planted in the 1870s. Leashed dogs are welcome throughout, and the gardens never close.

The 1940 steel cantilever bridge linking Fortitude Valley to Kangaroo Point and serving as the city's landmark. Its footways can be crossed on foot with a leashed dog; the guided climb over the span is for humans only.
