Dogs must be leashed on all public streets, in parks outside the fenced pipicanes, and on any hiking trail including Serra Gelada. Owners must carry bags and clean up after their dog, with fines for not doing so. Dogs are banned from the sand and water on every beach in the municipality, year-round, with fines starting around 120 euros.
Heat & Paw Safety
Benidorm's promenades and pavements get scorching hot from June to September, with daytime highs around 29-30C in August. Test the pavement with your hand before a midday walk, and stick to early morning or after-sunset walks in high summer. Carry water at all times, shade is limited on the seafront promenades and the Serra Gelada cliff path.

Spain uses the euro. Pet-friendly hotel fees in Benidorm are usually modest (often 0-20 euros per stay), and most terrace restaurants charge nothing extra for a dog at your table.
