Fell safety and the Countryside Code
Dogs are welcome on the fells, but the land is farmed: keep your dog on a lead near sheep and cattle, and during the spring ground-nesting bird season, and never let it chase livestock. In summer, watch for blue-green algae in the lake, which can be fatal, and check the water before a swim. Fell weather changes fast, so carry water, a towel and a spare lead, and always clean up after your dog.
