Dog-Friendly Attractions in Windermere

The best way to see England's largest lake, on classic steamers and launches that run between Bowness, Ambleside, Brockhole and Lakeside. Dogs travel free on every scheduled sailing and on the self-drive boats, with water bowls provided on board.

A dramatic neo-Gothic castle in extensive grounds on the quiet western shore, where the young Beatrix Potter holidayed and first fell for the Lakes. Dogs on leads are welcome in the grounds and the café, and the lakeshore woodland walks are the real draw.
