Dog-Friendly Waterfronts & Lakes in Vilnius

A signposted dog beach inside Vingis Park on the south-bend of the Neris River, the only official urban swimming spot for dogs in Vilnius. Sand and gravel underfoot, with calm water in the bend. Off-leash use is tolerated on the beach itself; surrounding paths require a leash.

A 30 km drive or train ride from Vilnius takes you to Trakai's island castle on Lake Galvė, one of Lithuania's flagship images. Dogs are welcome on a leash on the lakeside path and the wooded peninsulas around the lake; the castle interior is closed to non-assistance pets. The lake has natural shallow swim spots dogs can use safely.

A protected forest landscape on the north-western edge of the city, with the Neris and Lake Saulekas inside the park boundary. Dogs on leash are welcome on all marked trails; the forest tracks reach 14 km of continuous walking. The park sits within Vilnius city limits, so transport access is direct.
