Dog-Friendly Parks in Vigo

Vigo's iconic hilltop park, climbing to the 16th-century Castelo do Castro fortifications with panoramic views over the Ría de Vigo and the Cíes Islands. Paved walks, shaded eucalyptus terraces and a celtic-roundhouse archaeological site. Dogs on lead are welcome throughout, and an enclosed off-leash area sits on the lower south slope.

A 24-hectare estate park around the 18th-century Pazo Quiñones de León, with formal French gardens, mature woodland, an open-air auditorium and the Lagares river running through. The municipality has installed a large enclosed off-leash area in the eastern section, one of the biggest in the city. Dogs on lead welcome throughout the rest of the grounds.

A wooded coastal hill on the eastern edge of Vigo, with a hermitage at the summit and panoramic views over the inner ría. A network of trails through pine and eucalyptus woodland makes it a popular off-leash dog-walking spot for locals; the trails outside the central plaza are quiet enough to allow off-leash walking with a recall-trained dog.
