Dog-Friendly Attractions in Vigo

Vigo's stone-paved old town climbing up from the harbour to Porta do Sol, with the Concatedral de Santa María, Praza da Constitución and the Rúa Pescadería oyster-stall row. The neighbourhood is entirely walkable and pet-friendly outdoors; many tapas bar terraces welcome dogs. The narrow stone alleys can be crowded in the evening, head out before 20:30 if your dog is reactive.

The 16th-century fortified citadel crowning the Castro park, rebuilt by Philip IV in 1665 to defend Vigo from English and Dutch raids. The outer ramparts are open to leashed dogs and offer the city's signature Cíes Islands sunset panorama. The interior galleries and a small celtic-roundhouse archaeological exhibit do not admit pets.

The 18th-century estate of the Marquess of Mos at the heart of the Parque de Castrelos, with formal French gardens, English-style parterres and the Lagares river running through. The pazo interior houses the Museo de Vigo (no pets), but the surrounding gardens and adjoining park are open to leashed dogs year-round, free of charge.
