Dog-Friendly Beaches & Lake Garda Day Trips

The Giulietta Beach in Lazise is one of Lake Garda's most established dog-friendly beach areas, with a designated section where dogs can swim freely in the lake. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available for hire, and the shallow, sheltered waters are ideal for dogs. Lazise is 30 km west of Verona, reachable by car (30 min) or local bus from Verona. The charming medieval village of Lazise is worth exploring with your dog after the beach.

In Bardolino, dogs are allowed on the free public beach in the direction of Garda, particularly when the beach is less crowded. The lakeside promenade through Bardolino is dog-friendly year-round and lined with wine estates and olive groves — Bardolino is also the home of the DOC Bardolino wine. The village is 32 km west of Verona and famous for its September wine festival.

The cycle-pedestrian path connecting Lazise and Bardolino along the Lake Garda shoreline is one of the best dog-friendly walks in the Verona province. The flat, paved path runs directly alongside the lake with views of the water and the mountains behind. Dogs must be on leash. Approximately 8 km one way, with return options by bike or local bus. Numerous cafés and bars along the route accept dogs on their terraces.
