Saluting Battery & Upper Barrakka terrace
Upper Valletta, harbour bastion
Eight 19th-century guns lined up on the harbour terrace below Upper Barrakka, fired daily at noon and 16:00 as Malta's continuation of a 500-year-old tradition. The terrace and ceremony are open-air, dogs on leash are welcome, and the view across the Grand Harbour to the Three Cities is one of the best in the Mediterranean.
๐ก Sound-sensitive dogs should be on the upper terrace (Upper Barrakka) at noon, the cannons are loud but the upper level dampens the report considerably.
