Treviso is a water city ringed by green: the Sile river slides along the walls, spring-fed parks open just outside town, and the municipality maintains a network of fenced dog runs, several with agility equipment and fountains. Leashes are required outside the dedicated areas.
The old towpath of the Sile, where barges were once hauled towards Venice, is now Treviso's favourite walk: flat, green and traffic-free, following the river from the city walls to the villages of Casier and beyond inside the Sile regional park. It is the classic long dog walk straight from the centre.
A 67-hectare spring-water park on the north-east edge of town, where the Storga stream rises among meadows, woods and old farmsteads before joining the Sile. Its flat gravel trails are a quiet alternative to the busier Restera and a favourite of local dog walkers.
One of the newest of Treviso's municipal dog runs, opened in 2023 in the Parco Ducale with double gates, a fountain and benches. The city maintains a whole network of these fenced sgambatura areas, so wherever you stay, an off-leash enclosure is usually close by.
