Dog-Friendly Attractions in Toronto

Forty-odd Victorian industrial buildings around cobbled lanes, the largest surviving collection of its kind in North America, now filled with galleries, studios, cafes and design shops. The whole district is pedestrian only, which makes it one of the calmest places in central Toronto to walk a dog.

A chain of car-free islands fifteen minutes across the harbour, with lagoons, cottage lanes, a boardwalk and the classic view back to the downtown skyline. The ferry ride itself is the attraction for most dogs, who spend it on deck with the wind in their ears.

A former brick factory and quarry in the Don Valley, rebuilt as a public environmental centre with a weekly farmers market, industrial ruins and a set of ponds and meadows in the old quarry floor. Trails run straight out into the ravine system from here.
