Dog-Friendly Attractions in Sydney

A spectacular clifftop route in the eastern suburbs with sweeping ocean views, running from Dover Heights toward Watsons Bay past the Macquarie Lighthouse. Along the way there are dog-friendly reserves such as Raleigh Reserve and Lighthouse Reserve where off-leash play is allowed. It is one of the best big-view walks in Sydney you can genuinely do with a dog.

A reconstructed sandstone headland park on the western edge of the CBD, with a foreshore walk, native plantings, and knockout harbour views back to the bridge. Dogs are welcome on-leash throughout the reserve, and there is even a small harbour swimming enclosure, Marrinawi Cove, where dogs are allowed in the water. It is the easiest genuinely central attraction to do with a dog.

A postcard harbour village at the end of the South Head peninsula, reachable by ferry from Circular Quay for a proper Sydney day out. The small Gibsons Beach has gentle water and views across to the city skyline and the bridge, and dogs are welcome on the foreshore around the village. Combine it with a meal in the dog-friendly hotel garden. Note that dogs are not allowed in the adjacent Robertson Park or the National Park lookouts.
