An 18-hectare lake in the Neckar floodplain north of the centre, with a 2 km perimeter path, beer garden, and a small unsupervised dog-swimming section on the eastern shore. U-Bahn U14 to Hofen station, then 5 minutes' walk.
Stuttgart is inland, the closest sea is the Côte d'Azur eight hours south by car, but the Neckar river embankment, the Max-Eyth-See lake park, and the Bärensee forest reservoirs give travellers a proper summer-water-walk option. Swimming with dogs is permitted on a few unsupervised lake shores; the Neckar itself is industrial and not safe for swimming.

The largest of three forest reservoirs west of the centre, set in 200-year-old beech woodland. Quiet, shaded, and the most reliable summer cool-down spot for a dog within Stuttgart proper. Swimming officially tolerated outside the swan-nesting zone (April-July).
The Neckartalradweg cycle and walking path follows the river for 12 km from Bad Cannstatt to Hofen, Stuttgart's longest flat dog-walking corridor. Mostly leashed (mandatory), with shaded riverside benches every 200 metres. Industrial water, no swimming.
