Monte Urgull
The wooded hill crowning the Old Town, topped by the Castillo de la Mota fort and a large statue of Christ. Monte Urgull's network of shaded paths offers panoramic views over La Concha bay and the Cantabrian Sea. Dogs are permitted off-leash during the designated hours — 18:00 to 12:00 in winter, 19:00 to 10:00 in summer — across the full hill, except that breeds classified as potentially dangerous (PPP) must always remain leashed and muzzled.
Off-leash zone: Full hill during off-leash hours: 18:00–12:00 (winter) / 19:00–10:00 (summer). PPP breeds always leashed & muzzled.
💡 Enter from the Paseo Nuevo side for the most dramatic clifftop sea views. Carry water — there are no fountains on the upper paths.
