Travelling with Pets in Riga

Riga's public transport network — Rīgas Satiksme — covers the city with trams, buses, and trolleybuses. The rules for dogs are clear and reasonable: small dogs in a carrier travel free, while larger dogs require a child's single ticket (€1.50). Dogs must be on a short leash. Riga's well-maintained cycling infrastructure also makes cycling with a dog a practical option in all seasons except deep winter. The Baltic winter (November to March) can be severe — plan around that.
