Dog Parks & Walks in Rhodes

One of the oldest landscaped parks in the world, Rodini lies about 3 km south of the Old Town on the Lindos road, a shaded ravine of streams, stone bridges, ponds and dense vegetation. The leafy canopy keeps it noticeably cooler than the town in summer, making it one of the few comfortable midday walks, though dogs should be kept on-leash given the resident free-roaming peacocks, ducks and cats.

The wide paved promenade running from Mandraki harbour past the windmills and Fort St Nicholas is the classic Rhodes Town dog walk, flat, open and catching the sea breeze. Early morning and evening it fills with locals walking their dogs along the rail, with views of the marina and the old walls.

The grassy dry moat encircling the medieval city walls forms a long, mostly traffic-free walkway dotted with greenery, stone and partial shade from the ramparts. It is an atmospheric, flat loop for a leashed dog away from the crowded lanes inside the walls.
