Kaffivagninn
Harbour / Grandi · Grandagarður 10, 101 Reykjavik
Reykjavik's oldest harbour café, Kaffivagninn has been feeding fishermen and locals since 1935. Sitting right on the old harbour front, it offers honest Icelandic fish soup, pan-fried cod, and skyr-based desserts. The outdoor terrace looks directly onto the working harbour and Esja mountain beyond. Dogs are well tolerated at the outside tables and the atmosphere is entirely unpretentious. On calm summer evenings this is one of the most atmospheric spots in the city. Come early — it fills fast.
💡 Arrive before noon on weekends. The harbour light is beautiful and the terrace fills up fast by lunchtime
