Dog Parks & Walks in Quimper

A 70-metre wooded hill rising straight from the south bank of the Odet, Mont Frugy offers shaded paths under mature beech and oak just two minutes from the cathedral. The climb is short but steep, and the summit gives a sweeping view over the spires and rooftops of the old town. Keep your dog on the leash, as the trails are popular with walkers and cross the upper streets.

The quays and towpath running along the Odet through the heart of Quimper are the easiest and most scenic dog walk in town, lined with flower boxes, footbridges and old stone facades. The path is flat and continuous, letting you extend or shorten the walk as you wish, and it links the centre to the wider Baie de Kerogan downstream. Dogs stay on the leash along the quays, and waste bags are expected to be picked up.

A large green leisure park south of the centre on the banks of the Odet, Creac'h Gwen has wide open lawns, broad trails, a lake and plenty of room to stretch a dog's legs away from traffic. It is the most spacious option in Quimper itself and pairs a long flat loop with calm water views. Keep your dog leashed, give a wide berth to the rowing and water-sports zones, and pick up after them.
