Dog-Friendly Parks in Prague

Letná Park sits on a plateau above the Vltava bend, offering one of the most dramatic panoramic views of Prague's skyline from its famous terrace beer garden. The park itself is a large, tree-filled plateau used daily by Prague's dog-walking community. Dogs on leash are welcome throughout, and there are designated off-leash areas. The famous Letná Beer Garden (Letenský zámeček) at the western end is dog-friendly. Easily reached on foot from the city centre via Čechův Bridge.

Stromovka is Prague's largest and oldest royal park, a former hunting ground now used as the city's main dog-walking park. The park covers over 95 hectares of mature trees, ponds, and open meadows. Dogs on leash are welcome throughout, and there is a dedicated off-leash area in the southern section. On weekend mornings, Stromovka feels like an enormous open-air dog park — hundreds of dogs, families, and joggers fill the wide tree-lined avenues. Connects directly to Letná Park to the east.

Divoká Šárka is Prague's most dramatic nature reserve: a wild sandstone gorge with hiking trails, a natural open-air swimming lake (Šárecký rybník), rocky outcrops, and forested hills. It feels genuinely wild for a space barely 20 minutes from the city centre. Dogs are welcome on all trails and in the nature reserve. The swimming lake area has an informal dog-swimming section. One of the best places in Prague to give a dog a proper run through varied natural terrain.

Riegrovy sady is Vinohrady's beloved hillside park with a famous beer garden and panoramic views over the city toward the castle. A genuine local park used daily by the Vinohrady dog-walking community. Dogs are welcome on leash throughout and there is an off-leash area. The beer garden is dog-friendly and very popular on summer evenings. The park also has a children's playground and a large open meadow where dogs love to run (on leash). One of Prague's most socially lively parks.
