Dog-Friendly Attractions in Prague

Prague Castle is the largest ancient castle complex in the world by area, and its courtyards, gardens, and viewing terraces are all accessible with dogs on leash. The Royal Garden (Královská zahrada) and the South Gardens (Jižní zahrady) terracing the castle hill are beautiful and dog-friendly. The castle grounds are free to walk; individual buildings and St. Vitus Cathedral interior require a ticket and do not allow dogs.

Vyšehrad is Prague's other great hilltop citadel — quieter and much less touristy than the castle, with spectacular Vltava views from its cliff-edge ramparts. The park inside the fortifications is excellent for dogs on leash. The cemetery, formal gardens, and the grassy ramparts walk are all dog-friendly. Vyšehrad offers a quieter, more local Prague experience than the castle district and is particularly beautiful in autumn.

Petřín Hill is a forested green hill rising above Malá Strana with extensive walking trails, rose gardens, orchards, and the Petřín Lookout Tower (a smaller Eiffel Tower replica). Dogs on leash are welcome throughout. The funicular railway (Petřínská lanová dráha) accepts dogs and is the easiest way to reach the top. The hill is one of Prague's most serene spaces and is particularly beautiful in spring when the orchards bloom.
