Dog-Friendly River Beaches & Vltava Banks in Prague

Emperor's Island is a nature reserve island in the Vltava north of the city, accessible by a small footbridge from the Troja area. The island is a protected nature area with wild riverbanks, forest trails, and informal dog-swimming spots along the river edges. Dogs are welcome and the island is very popular with Prague's dog-walking community. The wild, green atmosphere is completely different from the manicured parks of central Prague.

The Botič Creek trail is a green corridor that runs south from Vyšehrad through the Nusle valley, offering a quiet, shaded riverside walk well away from tourist areas. The creek has several informal spots where dogs can wade and swim. The trail passes through local parks and connects several residential neighbourhoods, making it one of Prague's best-kept secrets for dog walkers who want to avoid the crowds entirely.

The Náplavka embankment in Smíchov is a lower riverside terrace along the Vltava with a weekend farmers market, floating bar boats, and a relaxed riverside atmosphere. Dogs are welcome along the full embankment. The weekend farmers market (Saturday and Sunday mornings) is one of Prague's most popular and dog-friendly events. Café boats moored along the bank welcome dogs on their outdoor decks.
