Best Parks for Dogs in Poznan

The largest park in Poznan, around 100 hectares of wooded ridges, open lawns, military monuments, and panoramic views over the Old Town from the southern slopes. Built on the site of a 19th-century Prussian fortress, the park combines history with serious walking: alleys of mature oaks and beeches make a one-to-two-hour loop natural. Dogs must stay on a leash throughout, but the broad paths and quiet woodland sections are spacious enough that you will rarely cross a tight crowd. The two open-air museums (Army and Armaments) are closed to dogs, but the park around them is fine.

A graceful Art Nouveau park of about 13 hectares designed in 1907, with three connected ponds, ornate footbridges, and weeping willows. The dog meadow (Wybieg dla psow) on the western edge is fully fenced and equipped with simple agility ramps and benches, a calm alternative to the busier Wybieg w Marcinkowo. The rest of the park is laid out as gravel paths and lawns around the water, ideal for a thirty-minute structured walk after a session in the off-leash zone. Popular with families and joggers, so dogs that are reactive to children should stay on the outer paths.

A 75 km2 national park 30 km south of Poznan, founded in 1957 to protect glacial lakes, pine forests, and post-glacial moraines. Twelve marked walking trails total over 100 km, the most popular being the green trail around Lake Goreckie. Dogs are allowed on all marked trails but must stay on a leash throughout, as the park protects roe deer, red squirrel populations, and ground-nesting birds. The southern edge of the park reaches the picturesque town of Mosina with a small train station served from Poznan Glowny in about 25 minutes. The closest thing to a real forest hike from central Poznan.
