Stary Rynek (Old Market Square)
Old Town ยท Stary Rynek, Poznan
One of the largest medieval market squares in Europe, laid out in 1253 and ringed by colourful Renaissance, Baroque, and reconstructed townhouses. The Renaissance Town Hall in the centre houses the famous mechanical goats that butt heads every day at noon. Leashed dogs are welcome on the cobbles, on most cafe terraces, and along the surrounding lanes. The Town Hall museum and the Royal Castle are off-limits to dogs (except assistance), but the entire outdoor experience is dog-friendly.
๐ก Avoid the dense crowd at noon when the goats butt heads. Arrive at 11:00 or 13:30 for a calm square experience with a nervous dog
