Positano has no city park or lawn: it is a near-vertical village of staircases dropping to the sea, so green space means the footpaths and the hills above. The one genuinely flat walk in town is the Via Positanesi d'America, the scenic seafront path between the two beaches. For real greenery and cool air, head up to the terraced hamlet of Nocelle or the Agerola plateau, where the Path of the Gods begins.
This short, flat cliff-side promenade links Spiaggia Grande to Fornillo beach, passing a medieval watchtower with sea views the whole way. In a town made of steps, it is the rare level stroll a dog can enjoy on a leash.

A tiny terraced hamlet high above Positano, greener, cooler and far quieter than the seafront, and the lower end of the Path of the Gods. Leashed dogs love the shaded lanes and lemon terraces, reachable by the local bus to spare the 1,500 steps.
