Dog-Friendly Beaches near Perpignan

The Lido beach at Canet-en-Roussillon is the closest reliable year-round dog beach to Perpignan, allowing leashed dogs all year near the fishermen's huts (cabanes de pêcheurs). A long sandy Mediterranean beach about 15-20 minutes by car from the city, with the resort's amenities nearby.

Torreilles has the most dog-welcoming beaches in the area, with two stretches that accept leashed dogs. Dogs are not allowed from 15 June to 15 September, but for the rest of the year you can walk leashed dogs along these wide, natural, dune-backed sands, about 20-25 minutes by car from Perpignan.

Along the Roussillon coast near Perpignan, off-season tolerance for dogs is much higher than in summer. Towns like Sainte-Marie-la-Mer and Le Barcarès generally allow leashed dogs from around October to late June. Out of the high season the wide Mediterranean beaches are quiet, cool and far more dog-friendly.
