Nerja's best-known sights are outdoors and easy to enjoy with a leashed dog, from the Balcón de Europa promontory to the old town around the El Salvador church. The famous Nerja Caves are the main exception, as dogs cannot go inside, though they are welcome on the surrounding grounds.
Old Town
Nerja's iconic promontory and palm-lined promenade juts out over the sea where the old town meets the Mediterranean, offering some of the best coastal views on the Costa del Sol. Leashed dogs are welcome on this pedestrian viewpoint, and golden hour here is one of the great free pleasures of a visit.

The Nerja Caves are a vast prehistoric cave system and one of Andalusia's most visited attractions, with a famous central chamber and ancient rock art. Dogs are not allowed inside the caves for conservation reasons, except service dogs, but they are welcome on the exterior grounds and picnic area while you take turns visiting.
