Miami is a car-first metro and the simplest way to move a dog around is Uber Pet or Lyft Pet, available across the whole urban area for a $3-5 surcharge over the standard fare. Public transit is workable for small pets in carriers: Miami-Dade Metrobus, Metrorail and the elevated Metromover all accept pets in fully enclosed carriers free of charge. The Brightline intercity rail to Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach and Orlando accepts pets up to 25 lb (11 kg) for a $10 fee, the most pet-friendly intercity option in Florida. MIA airport has two indoor pet relief areas inside the terminal post-security.
