Dog-Friendly Attractions in Miami

The 1.5 km stretch of Ocean Drive between 5th and 15th Street, lined with pastel 1930s Art Deco hotels (Carlyle, Avalon, Colony, Cardozo) on one side and the palm-shaded Lummus Park promenade on the other. Leashed dogs are welcome on the Ocean Drive sidewalk and along the entire Lummus Park path (but not on the sand). The Miami Design Preservation League runs a paid guided walking tour from the Art Deco Welcome Center; dogs are allowed on the outdoor portion if leashed.

An open-air street-art district anchored by the ticketed Wynwood Walls courtyard (small dogs in a carrier allowed inside, larger dogs only welcome in the surrounding streets). The entire 20-block Wynwood neighbourhood is a free open-air mural gallery: leashed dogs are welcome on every sidewalk and at most outdoor cafés. Sundays are the most active for street art.

A 1 km open-air pedestrian shopping and dining mall between Alton Road and Washington Avenue, designed by Morris Lapidus in the 1960s. Leashed dogs are welcome the full length and the vast majority of cafés have dog-friendly patios with water bowls. Easily the highest density of dog-friendly outdoor dining in Miami Beach in a single walkable stretch.
