Pet-Friendly Attractions in Manchester

Manchester's creative quarter — independent shops, vintage stores, dog-friendly pubs, and the famous Affleck's emporium on Tib Street. Dogs on leash are welcome along every street and in nearly every independent venue. The Saturday and Sunday Stevenson Square pop-up market accepts dogs and is the city's classic weekend dog-walking destination.

The historic canal basin where Britain's Industrial Revolution shipped its first cotton, now a leafy quarter of canal-side bars, the open-air Castlefield Bowl performance space, and the Roman fort remnants. Dogs on leash are welcome along the entire towpath; the canal-side pubs (Knott Bar, Dukes 92, The Wharf) all accept dogs on the terraces.

The 240-hectare Heaton Park, anchored by the Grade-I-listed Heaton Hall (1772), with formal gardens, a boating lake, an animal centre, and one of Europe's largest municipal park footprints. Dogs roam off-leash on the open lawns and back trails; the Hall's exterior and the lakeside path are the city's classic Sunday-afternoon dog walk.
