Gijón maintains a network of more than 40 public green spaces where dogs may run off-leash, but only inside the zones marked with orange municipal signs, as the rest of each park requires a leash. The clifftop Cerro de Santa Catalina and several sendas verdes (greenways) give dogs and owners plenty of coastal walking.
