Dog-Friendly Beaches in & near Gijón

Gijón's beach rules for dogs are strict but clear. The central Playa de San Lorenzo allows dogs only outside the bathing season, between 1 October and 30 April, and only on the stretch between stairways 2 and 8, while the small El Rinconín beach is the city's year-round dog beach with no seasonal limits. Always keep your dog leashed away from the designated dog zones, carry waste bags, and rinse paws after salt and sand.
