Be realistic about beaches here: the five villages have only tiny coves, and dogs are banned from the main swimming beach at Monterosso, so this is not a beach-holiday destination for dogs. The honest options lie just outside the park. Under the Ligurian regional rule, dogs are generally allowed on beaches only from about 20:30 to 05:30 between 1 May and 30 September, with much freer access from October to April, so always check local signs before letting your dog on the sand.
The only proper sandy beach in the Cinque Terre, in the Fegina district of Monterosso. Dogs are not permitted on the main lido beach in season, so treat Monterosso as a place to pass through with a dog rather than to swim.

The wild public beaches on Palmaria Island, especially around Pozzale, are far more relaxed about dogs than the village lidos. Reached by a short boat hop from Portovenere, it makes an easy dog-friendly half-day away from the crowds.

Just up the coast beyond Levanto, Bonassola has a broad, easygoing beach reached along the flat old-railway seaside path and tunnels. It is one of the more genuinely dog-tolerant beaches in the area, especially outside peak summer hours.
